FS: Boston Acoustics ProSeries 12.5LF Subwoofer w/ box

Postby Maverick on Jul 18th, '03, 05:01

The completely redesigned ProSeries .5 subwoofers are truely marvels of technology. Boston Acoustics combined a high-mass cone, EPDM Rubber Surrounds, a cast basket, and its new RadialVent, to make its most prized sub yet. These bad boys work their big sound in incredibly small enclosures. Type 1 to be specific. The Pro Sub's output is tight, smooth, and detailed at all volume levels because of its ultra-rigid high-mass cone. The fact that the magnet alone is over 10 pounds might be an indication as to the power of one of these monsters.

Simply because the sub seems to demand it....

I've tried...

160w RMS, 250w rms, 300w rms, 500w rms

The sound quality, volume and dept got significantly better and better with the higher RMS wattage. Enough to convince me that 500w rms is minimum.

I've read that the sub is underrated and can handle a lot more than the spec sheets 1200w rms max.
